Full List of Golden Globe 2011 Winners

In short, the wins I’m most excited about is Natalie Portman in Black Swan, Paul Giamatti in the Canadian film Barney’s VersionColin Firth in The King’s Speech, and Annette Bening in The Kids Are Alright (even though I haven’t seen the latter yet — soon to be remedied). I am also quite fond of Steve Buscemi who won for the new series, Boardwalk Empire, which I have yet to watch. Toy Story 3 deservingly won for Best Animated Film. I’d argue that it should have been a real contender in the Best Picture category too.

Absolutely. Though it took the Oscars so long to break Pixar out of the ghetto I doubt the Globes will be recognizing animation on the same level of live action any time soon.

It’s the same thing as comedy. It’s very rare for comedies to get serious nominations, no matter how strong.
